Saying goodbye is hard. We strive to make it as stress-free as possible for you and your precious pet. No scary car rides. No crying in the lobby.
What to Expect
We take our time.
When we arrive, there is no rush. We’ll talk with you about what to expect and answer any questions you may have. Your pet can stay wherever they are most comfortable — on their bed, in your lap, outside in their favorite spot, or surrounded by the people and pets they love.
We begin with sedation so your pet can relax and become peacefully sleepy. Once they are completely comfortable, the final medication is given. You can remain with them throughout the entire process.
Afterward, there is no need to hurry. You’ll have time to say goodbye, and we can help with aftercare and cremation arrangements if needed.
How Do I Know When It’s Time?
Deciding when to say goodbye can be agonizing. If you think that decision may be in the near future, start by making a list of the things that make your pet happy — favorite foods, walks, toys, routines, or simply being with you.
As your pet is no longer able to enjoy those things, mark them off. Seeing those changes over time can help you recognize when the difficult days are beginning to outnumber the good ones.
If you’re unsure, let us know. We can evaluate your pet, talk honestly about their quality of life, and help you decide what comes next.
If it isn’t quite time, we’ll help make a plan to keep them comfortable. And if it is time, we’ll do everything we can to make sure their goodbye is peaceful — for them and for you.
Aftercare and Cremation
You don’t have to make every decision in the moment. We can discuss aftercare with you ahead of time so you know what to expect.
Cremation options are available, or you may choose to care for your pet’s remains yourself. Whatever you decide, we will help with your pet’s final arrangements. Regardless of what you choose, we’ll memorialize your pet with a pawprint keepsake.
